Chuvashenergo, a branch of IDGC of Volga, PJSC (a member of Rosseti Group of Companies), takes an active part in implementation of the Innovative Development Program of IDGC of Volga, PJSC aimed at improving the reliability and efficiency of power grid complex operation by introducing state-of-the-art equipment. On August 05-06, 2015, Chuvashenergo's staff measured and tested a pilot static dry-running blowout unit fitted with the automatic compensation current control system at the 110/35/10 kV Novaya Substation of the Northern Production Department of the branch. This unit is used to compensate for capacitive currents in 6-10 kV grids of ATDS-400/10 type. Representatives of NPP Bresler, LLC (developer and manufacturer of ATDS-400/10), Rosseti, PJSC and executive structure of IDGC of Volga, PJSC also participated in the testing and measuring operations. A representative of NVP BOLID, CJSC was invited as an independent witness. The testing procedure involved simulation of different operating modes of the grid, including solid single phase-to-ground fault and unstable intermittent single phase-to-ground fault. All participants of the testing and measuring operations acknowledged satisfactory results of the works. The tests showed that the new equipment fully meets the requirements of the technical assignment. The analysis of measured values and oscillograph records obtained during tests confirmed the operational efficiency of the automatic compensation current control system and dry-running blowout unit fitted with the ATDS-400/10. Basing upon the results of tests and measurements, Chuvashenergo, a branch of IDGC of Volga, PJSC, was recommended to commission the pilot unit ATDS-400/10.
