Today in Penza, at the training ground of Penzaenergo, a branch of IDGC of Volga, PJSC (a member of Rosseti Group of Companies), a solemn opening ceremony of the 14th Professional Skill Contest among the personnel of companies of electric power industry of the CIS member states — International Contest of Teams for Repair and Maintenance of Equipment of 110 kV was conducted. Traditionally, the contest was arranged by the Executive Board of CIS Electric Power Council, the RF Ministry of Energy, and Rosseti, PJSC, a hosting country company. For the first time, the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation became the co-organizer of the International Contest. Teams from Georgia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the Kyrgyz Republic take part in the contest. Aleksandr Novak, the Minister of Energy, President of CIS Power Council greeted the contest participants.“On behalf of CIS Power Council I sincerely welcome you and all CIS countries’ specialists in repair and maintenance of 0.4–10 kV distribution grids whom you represent. The best industry specialists, winners of qualifying competitions are here today. I hope that the upcoming contest will increase your level of qualification, and the experience gained will help you to ensure high reliability and safety of operation of distribution networks. I am confident that this fair contest will strengthen the traditions of friendship and professional collaboration among power industry professionals of CIS countries,” he said in his welcoming speech. Welcoming the participants, main contest judge Evgeny Grabchak noted that such events demonstrate not only the high professional level of the production staff and its readiness to master new technologies, but also contribute to the exchange of experience and the establishment of partnership and friendly relations between power engineers from different countries.“Uniform standards and common approaches give a positive effect and ensure seamless technical preparation of the power grid complex to the winter maximum loads and, generally, to elimination of possible technological failures. The main category of personnel that takes part in the contest is represented by distribution networks servicemen — those who directly interact with people. Power supply to the end consumers both in our country and the CIS countries depends on how coordinated and quick their work is,” he added. The team of Rosseti, PJSC, comprised by employees of IDGC of Volga, PJSC, represents Russia in the contest. The right to be called the best power engineers of Russia and to protect the honor of the country at the International Contest was deservedly received by the Volzhans according to the results of the All-Russian Professional Skill Contest among Rosseti Group, which took place here in Penza in July this year.20 strongest teams from all over Russia took part in it. Having become the gold medalists, Volga energy specialists will now struggle for the title of the best in the competition with colleagues from the near abroad. They will have to pass 8 competitive stages, including assessment of theoretical expertise and demonstration of practical skills of acting in both regular and emergency situations. From September 13 to September 15, an exhibition of manufacturers of equipment, protective means and special machinery will be arranged at the training ground, during which guests and participants of the competitions will be able to get acquainted with new developments of national and foreign manufacturers used in the electric power industry. Results of the contest and the winners will be announced at the solemn closing ceremony on September 15.
