A special commission has been inspecting production departments (PD) of Chuvashenergo, a branch of IDGC of Volga, PJSC (a member of Rosseti Group of Companies), to assess their preparedness for operations during the 2016–2017 autumn and winter peak load periods. Assessment covers meeting the required criteria for obtaining the certificate confirming preparedness. In particular, inspection covers compliance with the Russian industrial safety laws, availability of industrial safety control, including occupational and fire safety issues. The commission will also have to control whether the necessary staffing levels are provided, availability of emergency backup of the main equipment, rotating pool, materials and facilities necessary for emergency recovery work in accordance with the approved standards, as well as availability of fire-fighting equipment. The inspection shall cover preparedness to perform emergency recovery work under low temperatures, implementation of the approved plan for preparation to operations during the autumn and winter period, including scheduled repair of the main and auxiliary equipment, buildings and structures, engineering inspection and diagnostics of equipment necessary to ensure operations during the autumn and winter period. In addition, the commission will verify whether the personnel is provided with personal protective equipment, special clothing, tools and accessories required for performance of work. Special attention will be paid to technical standards and operational documents. Specialists of Chuvashenergo branch will also elaborate additional measures for improvement of operational reliability of the energy system. The final inspection of production departments for preparedness will be conducted in September.
