Stage 2 of renovation of 110 KV transmission lines along Moscow highway finishes in Samara

Samara Distribution Grids, a branch of IDGC of Volga, PJSC (a member of Rosseti Group) is carrying out large-scale renovation of 110 kV overhead power transmission lines as part of expansion of the Moscow Highway. The works on preparation of engineering infrastructure are being implemented in the framework of the 2018 World Cup in the section from prospekt Kirova to the gas station No. 115.

The company is currently completing stage 2 of the renovation of Moskovskaya-1,2 110 kV transmission lines going along the Moscow Highway and transmitting power to the most part of Samara region. Three new supports have been installed and old cables, a ground wire, fiber-optical communication lines on supports have dismantled near Metro Mall within several days. After installation of new supports and cables power supply was organized based on a new scheme. It will let dismantle old supports between Metro Mall and Tashkentskaya Street located in the area of the Moscow Highway expansion.

For the purposes of installation works the Moscow Highway near Castorama Mall has been closed several times which was duly approved by the Transport Police of Samara region. Works were carried out at night in order to avoid traffic jams and any inconvenience to drivers of passenger and freight transport and city residents. Also, stage 2 of the renovation required some changes in the power supply schedule of which the consumers had been previously informed/

All the works are performed by contractors of the Ministry of Transport and Roads. Admission to works in fenced-off areas of power transmission lines and control over power facilities renovation are implemented by Samara Distribution Grids.

"Large-scale renovation of Moskovskaya-1 and Moskovskaya-2 110 kV transmission lines was completed within the shortest possible time. We maintained contact with the Ministry of Transport and Roads of Samara Region as well as with other project agents and contractors. Due to this we managed to complete all scheduled works so that our consumers - city residents - did not notice anything. After disassembling of old supports on this section expansion of the Moscow Highway and construction of a roundabout at Rakitovo Highway will go faster. The next stage of the grids preparation for the World Cup will be renovation of Semeykino-1 and Semeykino-2 110 kV lines",—says Konstantin Sanayev, Deputy General Director of IDGC of Volga, PJSC.
