The ad-hoc commission including representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Power of the Saratov region, of Rostekhnadzor, of the Central Office of EMERCOM of Russia for the Saratov region, of the branch of SO UPS, JSC - Saratov Regional Dispatching Office expressed their satisfaction with the preparedness of Saratov Distribution Grids, a branch of IDGC of Volga, PJSC, for operations during autumn-winter peak-load season. In the course of its activity the commission noted that the Ulyanovsk Distribution Grids had fully implemented all measures on preparation for autumn-winter season. The repair program was implemented in volumes consisting with the calendar plan, works on bringing power transmission line rights-of-way to conformity with applicable regulatory requirements were executed, preparing of general-and special purpose vehicles for operations in severe winter conditions was completed, specialists inspected and tested the equipment used for ice melting on overhead power transmission lines in full and in accordance with predetermined schedules. As part of preparations for operations in severe winter conditions the branch participated in joint training involving administrative authorities of the RF entities and the EMERCOM of Russia, in order to drill coordinated actions in responding to accidents and disasters that might result in loss of power supply, and in a number of emergency response drills to train the staff on proper operational procedures to be followed under low temperature conditions; the emergency reserve is 100% ready, storage locations ensure delivery of equipment and materials to potentially affected sites in the shortest time possible; backup sources of power were inspected and brought to operational readiness for emergency response purposes. "In addition to preparing the equipment for operations in autumn-winter season, sustained efforts were taken to enhance efficiency of forces and means necessary for operational response to emergency situations, noted Oleg Pavlov, Deputy General Director, Chief Engineer of IDGC of Volga, PJSC. - The branch formed 13 mobile teams of 102 employees equipped with modern tools, personal and collective protective equipment, protective clothing. 42 special-purpose vehicles are readily available."
