During the first six months of 2015, employees of Penzaenergo, a branch of IDGC of Volga, PJSC (subsidiary of Rosseti, JSC), removed trees and shrubs from the area of rights-of-way exceeding 305 ha, including 123 ha of 110-35 kV high voltage lines and 182 ha of 0.6-10 kV distribution networks. Penzaenergo also cleared routes of high-voltage lines within rights-of-way (up to rights-of-way width) from trees and shrubs. Repair and investment programs expanded 128 ha of 6-110 kV power transmission lines. Personnel involved in the vegetation management campaign was equipped with hand-held chainsaws, shrub-cutters and special mulcher machinery (fine mulching complexes are available in the branch). The campaign is still under progress. In 2015, Penzaenergo will clear and expand 709 ha of power line routes. Removal of vegetation and expansion of rights-of-way corridors is one of the stages of preparation of the electric grid facilities for smooth operation in autumn and winter season. Successful execution of all scheduled works will ensure reliable and smooth power supply to consumers residing in the Penza region.
