During the presentation, Oleg Popov, Commercial Manager of N. W. Telecom, declared the goals and purposes of Avangard TV promotion on the telecommunication services market. In his speech, he emphasized that this advanced service accessible to any Avangard user is intended to enhance the value of the broadband access services in general, and the very start of IP TV providing in St. Petersburg may be considered as the first stage in providing of triple play services: voice, data, and video via one channel.

Mr. Popov also described the advantages of Avangard TV over similar services provided by cable TV and house network operators. He noted that Avangard TV enables you not only to watch well-known international and Russian TV channels, with their traditional set extended with exclusive “niche” channels, but also to use interactive services such as “Video on Demand", “Web Recorder”, “Watch Program from Beginning”, and “TV Programs Archive”. Among the extra abilities of Avangard TV are friendly menu, TV Guide, protection against unauthorized access (“parent control”), ability to reduce the service price for a certain family member, and much more.

Boris Karlov, Chief Specialist of the Sales Department of N.W.Telecom, demonstrated operation of the Avangard TV service and its user interface abilities in real time, and told the guests about the connection and TV channel package tariffs.

After the demonstration of the Avangard TV service, N.W.Telecom representatives answered the journalists’ questions.
