Two months before completing construction of Halobutyl Rubber (HBR) production facility

Standard time limit to construct an HBR production facility is three years. But due to intensified activities it turned out to be significantly shortened. USD 63 MM has already been spent, it will need to consume another RUR 100 MM to complete the construction. That huge investment is necessitated by specific requirements to corrosion and environmental protection. Experts regard the HBR production facility as a highly sophisticated industrial installation. Now piping and erecting of process equipment are being completed there. Pipeline pressure test, electrical equipment, instrumentation and computerization are being finalized.

Extra items of equipment are being added to other sections of the Butyl Rubber Plant, which to be process line links in HBR production. Erection of a new HBR finishing line is being currently completed. It is scheduled for putting into operation early November.

A state-of-the-art three-floor finishing line supplied by “Welding Engineers” company is a multi-purpose one. It can produce both butyl rubber and HBR for it maintains much lower temperature conditions required by HBR process. Moreover, it is advantageous in saving power consumption.

Thus, there is a concurrent process of the construction nearing completion and of pre-commissioning. A new facility is presumably to produce the first batch of products as early as in December.
