In 2004, AO MOSENERGO generated around 73 bn kWt-h, 2.8% less than in 2003. Regional clients consumed 60.6 bn kWt-h (4.7% more than last year). Heat consumers received 66 mln Gcal (3.6% less compared to 2003).
In 2004, AO MOSENERGO put into operation a number of important facilities. The most crucial pojects included 110/10 kV and 110 kV substations Yubileinaya and Vykhino, Businovo pump station, as well as a new turbine generator at GES-1.
In 2004, all winter preparations were carried out in strict compliance with the schedule. On November 4, the Moscow energy system and all AO MOSENERGO’s branches received ‘readiness certificates’ for winter operations. The certificate confirms the high level of technical preparation, high fuel stocks and the fulfillment of obligatory maintenance.
2004 was a landmark in the restructuring of AO MOSENERGO. The Company has entered the stage of the practical implementation of reforms. Throughout the year, the company has carried out a huge work in this area. AO MOSENERGO has approved procedures for transferring its power stations to new wholesale generation companies and implemented steps to dispose non-core business. According to Dmitri Vasiliev, AO MOSENERGO is an example of successful move forward in the area of restructuring. In his opinion, one of reasons for success was the opennness and transparance of AO MOSENERGO.
