Representatives of JSC Rosseti and its subsidiary Interregional Distribution Grid Company of the North Caucasus took part in the meeting on the implementation of the "Energy Efficient Kaspiysk" project, which took place in Makhachkala under the leadership of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Dagestan, Magomed Isayev.
Abdulpatakh Amirhanov, Deputy Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment of the Republic of Dagestan briefed the meeting participants on prospects and directions of possible interactions in the financing of the pilot project. At the meeting, it was proposed that the attendees approve the Regulations for the Working Group of the project and confirm the members of the Working Group and the "road map" of the project.
The implementation of the project will consist of three phases: modernization of power on the basis of "smart" technologies, the creation of regional intelligent clusters - "smart" cities, and finally, the organization of a highly efficient regional infrastructure.
As a result, the energy complex of the North Caucasus can expect major changes. Under the project, it is planned to use a wide range of innovative technologies in the energy sector, such as LANs with guaranteed power supply for socially significant and critical facilities, the introduction of alternative and renewable energy sources, high voltage energy storage systems, management systems regulating load, voltages, and reactive power in the grid, etc.
The pilot project -"Smart City"- will be implemented in three areas of the North Caucasus – Magas, the capital of Ingushetia, Kaspiysk in Dagestan, and Gudermes in the Chechen Republic. The high potential of the rapidly developing and promising municipalities of the North Caucasus meets the basic parameters for the successful implementation of the set tasks.
At the same time, to create a high-quality, high-performance infrastructure and favourable living conditions for the population, serious structural changes and significant investments are necessary. A presentation on the results of the analysis of the energy infrastructure in the region, including the high level of wear and tear of the urban power supply equipment, was given during the meeting.
Background
Kaspiysk is the site of one of the major energy systems of the Republic of Dagestan - 55,300 kWh annual electricity consumption, 3 supply centres with capacity of 110kW, 15 transformer substations, 1 CHP, and a small block Hydroelectric power plants (HPP). Modern construction is underway in four districts. Significant scientific potential is concentrated here.
