Deputy CEO of JSC Russian Grids Svetlana Zholnerchik participated in the working trip of the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Olga Golodets to Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk and Vladivostok in the course of which she discussed with the leadership of the universities cooperation prospects in the field of training, retraining and further training of skilled specialists for the power supply company.
In Krasnoyarsk, together with Olga Golodets, the Deputy Head of JSC Russian Grids went to the Siberian Federal University which cooperates with the subsidiaries of JSC Russian Grids operating in the region - IDGC of Siberia and the Federal Grid Company of Unified Energy System (which is a branch of the Main Power Networks of Siberia).
The close cooperation of the University with JSC IDGC of Siberia for over 5 years was emphasized during the meeting The main areas of cooperation within the framework of the Strategic Partnership Agreement are as follows: the proactive involvement of IDGC of Siberia in the promotion of the electrical energy expert profession and the engagement of young people into the industry. Every year more than 100 students gain work experience in JSC IDGC of Siberia and senior executives frequently meet with such field-oriented students. A new website page “IDGC for Students” has been launched. Furthermore, under the Agreement on personnel training in the field of relay protection and automation new equipment has been granted to the University laboratory free of charge.
The meeting highlighted the importance of work experience in the training of professionals and the revival of student construction brigades which have already played a significant role in such training. Students from the Siberian Federal University, among others, have been engaged in order to work at the company’s grid network as part of student construction brigades during the last 5 years.
An agreement has been reached on expanding the existing cooperation between the Siberian Federal University and the subsidiaries operating in the region, as well as giving a new status to the partnership by introducing centralized interaction with the university on the level of JSC Russian Grids.
During the delegation’s visit to Irkutsk State University of Communication Lines, Svetlana Zholnerchik specified that at present the cooperation between the group companies and the university is limited to the practice of taking students for internships and employing graduates to the subsidiaries of JSC Russian Grids operating in the region. However, she also noted that, despite the lack of assets of JSC Russian Grids in Irkutsk Oblast, there are prospects for cooperation in areas such as attracting young scientists - graduate students and professors of the University for the development of electrical equipment and for the assessment of projects developed in the interests of improving the power supply network of the country.
In Vladivostok, the delegation met with the administration of the Far Eastern Federal University. Svetlana Zholnerchik stressed that the JSC Federal Grid Company of Unified Energy System (subsidiary of JSC Russian Grids) has an agreement with the University on cooperation in the field of training, retraining and further training of the technical industrial personnel of the company.

The meeting also highlighted the development of construction brigades in the professional education of specialists. Starting from 2011, more than 70 students of the Far Eastern Federal University have taken part in the student construction brigades at the facilities of JSC Federal Grid Company of Unified Energy System.
JSC Russian Grids places a lot of emphasis on improving partnership cooperation with Higher Educational Institutions and Secondary Educational Institutions for the purpose of engaging trained and motivated young professionals to work in the power supply sector of Russia and for the purpose of using the scientific potential of educational institutions.
