A ROSSETI Group delegation headed by General Director Oleg Budargin is taking part in the 45th Session of the CIGRÉ International Council on Large Electric Systems and Technical Exhibition which are being held from August 24 to 29, 2014 in Paris.
In his speech at the opening ceremony for this milestone session, CIGRÉ President Klaus Froehlich made note of the global trends which he believes will influence the development of energy systems worldwide. Mr. Froehlich noted the widespread change in climactic conditions as one of the most important factors that will define the energy of the future. He also noted the actively developing market of electric vehicles and their charging systems. His opening address also focused on the fact that not many of the structures that have been reliable over the previous decades still fully comply with modern challenges and the market situation, while new players are constantly appearing on the global energy market.
ROSSETI representatives will participate in the session’s panel “Challenges of the Transition in Power Systems - Regional Perspectives” and will present reports at the following sessions: “Technological Partnership and Integrating the Russian Electrical Energy System into Technological Globalisation” and “The Investment Potential of the Russian Electrical Energy Industry”.
ROSSETI will discuss the main areas of growth for Russia’s electricity sector. This will particularly include the plans to create an active-adaptive network, implement new technologies and to present new projects aimed at increasing energy safety and the reliability of the distribution and transmission networks.
The delegation will also meet with a number of directors from leading global companies producing equipment for the power grid sector to discuss important aspects of mutual partnership.
The ROSSETI delegation will additionally open the Russian expo at the Technical Exhibition of Energy Equipment, Technology and Services that is being held concurrently with the congress.
