Vadim Vorobyev, OAO LUKOIL Vice President, and Tokhirzhon Zhalilov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of UZAUTOSANOAT (UzAuto) Joint-Stock Company, signed a Memorandum of Understanding providing for cooperation in the manufacture and sale of engine oils and technical fluids.
As part of the Agreement, UzautoOil engine oils, whose manufacture started in June of 2013 at the LUKOIL-Permnefteorgsintez refinery, will be sold by LUKOIL not only in Uzbekistan but also in other Central Asian countries. LUKOIL will also provide consulting assistance to UzAuto as to the construction in Uzbekistan of a factory to manufacture packing materials and to package lubes and technical fluids.
“For us Uzbekistan is one of the most attractive markets to sell lubes and, above all, engine oils,” Vadim Vorobyev commented. In 2012, the first time in the history of Russian lube manufacturers, LUKOIL-manufactured engine oils were selected for conveyor filling at Uzbekistan’s SamAuto enterprise specializing in the assembly of Isuzu buses. Last year also witnessed the signing of a contract for the supply of LUKOIL GENESIS FE oils to the engine-manufacturing factory GM Powertrain Uzbekistan in Tashkent.
