Concern “Kalina” has got European quality premium for successful fulfillment of program “Committed to Excellence”. By today JSC Concern “Kalina” is the only Russian company which has certificate of EFQM in this program. “There were shaped ambitious aims: to drop deficit of finished goods on 25%, to lower fluctuation movement of personnel on 10%, to increase sales volume on 10%. Initiatives have influenced all company processes and were realized in time. Concern “Kalina” not only achieved planned results but also overfulfilled them.”
The decision to rake part in this competition was taken at the beginning of 2002. Before Concern has not taken part in competitions devoted to quality neither in Russia no abroad. Concern successfully passed certified audit in system TUF (October 2002) and GOST (March 2003). In June Concern applied to participate in competition of EFQM “Commited to excellence”. On application of EFQM the company should plan at least 3 new initiatives which should have exact tasks and have measurable results and also company should realize this plan within 6-9 months. After it independent auditor evaluates results. The Company should prove that chosen approach is correct, all initiatives are inculcated.
In May 2003 independent expert of EFQM - Brian Huxley visited Concern. Chose of such good experienced and skilled expert was caused by the fact that Concern “Kalina” is the first company in Russia which takes part in competition Committed to Excellence.
Initiatives announced by Concern were global and considerable: to inculcate system of measurement and analyze of processes efficiency and system of quality management, to instill methods for valuation of employees satisfaction, to instill new method of suppliers estimation.
EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management) certifies quality in three levels of perfection.
- European quality award; 2) Recognized for Excellence, 3) Committed to Excellence.
