Results of KAMAZ participation at IAA-2004

International Exhibition of Commercial Vehicles IAA-2004 in Hannover has closed. KAMAZ Inc. was the only Russian heavy-duty truck manufacturer among 1 400 participants from 48 countries that exhibited their products at this fair. New technologies and environment protection – these are the two priorities that will determine developing of the world automobile industry in the nearest future.

Director General of KAMAZ Inc. said:“KAMAZ Inc.’s participation at the exhibition in Hannover is our entering the European market with European technologies. We have enough capacities and opportunities to compete at a number of markets. Actually, KAMAZ Inc. is well known in Europe – thus, in Poland alone there are operating about 40 000 KAMAZ trucks.

Nail Gatiatullin - Chief Engine Designer of R&D of KAMAZ Inc. : One of the targets for our participation in that exhibition was to position KAMAZ among the world famous vehicle manufacturers. Under coordinated activities of all the divisions of the Company we shall be able to launch production of a new generation of engines in accordance with the program till the year 2008. Today Europe produces a lot of vehicles with EURO-3 engines and in Hannover there was presented a number of trucks with EURO-4.

To build engines complying with EURO-4 emission standards it is necessary to acquire special equipment. This issue is under a special control of Director General of KAMAZ Inc., so we believe that it is quite possible for us to improve the situation and meet the time limits set in the program of the federal government.

Danis Valeev – Chief Designer of KAMAZ Inc. comments: We have been persistently promoting our products and demonstrated to everyone that KAMAZ is here, that it is actively operating and developing, and that it has serious intentions to be at the European market and compete with the world famous brands. We heard many times from German drivers and businessmen that they would like to work at KAMAZ trucks, which are more reliable if overloaded and more cost effective while servicing.

Evgeny Pronin – Export Director of “KAMAZ” FTC”: Contracts signed at IAA-2004 in Hannover prove that KAMAZ can count on its own place among the world famous brands. The Company’s participation at this event assumes potential partnership with western companies in line with globalization currently under way in the automobile industry - this is quite a routine phenomenon based on cooperation and integration.

Today the world automobile industry invests significant amounts to develop very expensive models. Luckily, the reality proves that probably a customer not always needs such sophisticated products. A pragmatic customer quite often gives his preferences to a reasonable price, performance characteristics, heavy-duty operation capacity and reliability of a vehicle that should meet environmental and safety standards. It is here that we found quite a significant market niche for our products. Thus, for example, customers from Germany were much interested in heavy-duty KAMAZ dump trucks of 8x4 wheel arrangement. I think that we’ve chosen the right slogan to promote our KAMAZ trucks: “Born to hit the target”.
