On September 13, in Vietnamese city of Cam Pha there was hold a ceremony of opening of KAMAZ assembly production. There was assembled already first batch of trucks. Production capacity of the enterprise is 600 trucks per year.

Within three years KAMAZ Inc. delivered to Vietnam over 3,5 000 of trucks. The share of KAMAZ trucks at the market of Vietnam is 33%, and 74% among new vehicle. Last year KAMAZ marketed to Vietnam spare parts valued USD1,2 mln. This year it is planned to increase this sum by 60%. The work of dealers net is well developed, there is established an association of dealers. In 2003 there was opened KAMAZ Inc. agency in Vietnam. It is located in Russian-Vietnamese Cultural Centre. Government has adopted a program on development of vehicle industry up to 2010.

On January 2004, Vinacoal Company was given a license. In June there started deliveries of CKD. According to the contract it is planned to assemble 300 KAMAZ-55111 trucks till November.

In the context of KAMAZ business visit to Vietnam there were hold negotiations on expanding of model range and establishing of joint venture at the economical free zone.
