Another stage of “Rally d’Orient 2004” World Cup has finished in Turkey. The rally took place within 1-7 August. It consisted of 7 stages with the total length of the route over 3000 km.
KAMAZ-master team was represented by a “KAMAZ-4911 EXTREME” truck piloted by Vladimir Tchaguine, a two time winner of the World Cup and a four time winner of Dakar. He was assisted by Sergey Savostin as a navigator and Stanislav Konopko, a new member of the crew. In the crew of the service truck there Nail Bagavetdinov, Andrey Mokeev and Sergey Sotnokov .
“This stage of the World Cup we considered as a part of out training and test process both for the crew and for the vehicle before Dakar-2005”,- said Semyon Yakoubov, head of KAMAZ-master team. We were fighting for the best result among all class vehicles. We ranked as the first among trucks and as the 18th among 40 best rally crews of the world – it’s a good result for our crew on its way to next DAKAR.
