On December 15, 2004, at R&D centre of KAMAZ Inc. there took place the press conference devoted to the Company’s 35th anniversary. The representatives of R&D - Anatoliy Zhabin, chief vehicle designer, and Nayl Gataullin, chief engine designer, answered various questions of journalists. By the time the conference started there has already been assembled 1 724 213 trucks.
Development of modern vehicle and perspectives of its perfection were on the agenda on the conference. Within 30 years KAMAZ fleet has significantly changed and today the Company produces over 30 truck models, “Euro 2” engines of 360hp vs. 210hp and 150Nm vs. 65Nm in the past. Designers are not inclined to enlarge the truck range, which varies from 8 to 41t, but to assemble special versions upon a customer’s order. KAMAZ Inc. plans to assemble test batch of bonnet type trucks next year and develop cab of its origin.
