Alexander Ananenkov, Deputy Chairman of the Company’s Management Committee held Gazprom Headquarters a meeting dedicated to the implementation of the first stage of the Shtokman field development.

The meeting was attended by Vasily Podyuk, Member of the Management Committee, Head of the Gas, Gas Condensate and Oil Production Department, Konstantin Chuichenko, Member of the Management Committee, Head of the Legal Department, Yaroslav Golko, Member of the Management Committee, Head of the Investment & Construction Department, Olga Pavlova, Member of the Management Committee, Head of the Asset Management and Corporate Relations Department, heads and specialists of the Company’s structural units and subsidiaries such as Sevmorneftegaz, Gazflot, VNIIGAZ and Giprospetsgaz.

The meeting participants discussed the major issues related to the implementation of the first stage of the Shtokman field development, placing a focus on the procedural issues concerning the establishment of a special-purpose company to manage engineering, financing, construction and operation of the facilities provided for at the first stage of the Shtokman development, as well as the extended project schedule implementation status.

According to the meeting results, Gazprom structural units and subsidiaries were assigned respective tasks.

The Shtokman gas and condensate field is located in the central part of the Russian sector of the Barents Sea offshore.

Shtokman’s C1+C2 reserves make up 3.8 tcm of gas and some 37 mln t of gas condensate.

The development project of the Shtokman gas condensate field has strategic importance for Gazprom. This field will become a resource base to supply both Russian pipeline gas and gas received from LNG technologies to the Atlantic basin markets.

Sevmorneftegaz (a wholly owned subsidiary of Gazprom) holds the license to search for, explore and produce gas and gas condensate in the Shtokman field.

Gazprom chose Total (France) and StatoilHydro (Norway) as partners to execute the Shtokman project.

Jointly with the partners Gazprom plans to set up a special-purpose company to manage engineering, financing, construction and operation of the facilities provided for at the first stage of the Shtokman field development.
