On meeting dedicated to Dzhubga – Lazarevskoye – Sochi project status

Today Alexander Ananenkov, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee held at the Gazprom Headquarters a meeting dedicated to the implementation status of the Dzhubga – Lazarevskoye – Sochi gas trunkline construction project.

Attending the meeting were Yaroslav Golko, Member of the Management Committee – Head of the Investment and Construction Department, heads and specialists from the Gazprom Administration specialized departments, as well as Gazkomplektimpex, Gazprom transgaz Kuban and Piter Gaz.

The meeting participants discussed the progress in the preparation and coordination of the documentation for the Dzhubga – Lazarevskoye – Sochi gas trunkline construction project. It was noted that at the moment the project’s technical specifications had been elaborated and agreed upon with the relevant ministries and agencies, the state environmental impact assessment had been performed.

The meeting also discussed the issues relevant to the preparation for the gas pipeline construction launch.

Based on the meeting results the Gazprom specialized divisions and subsidiaries were authorized with the tasks aimed at securing the project implementation.

 

Background:

Pursuant to the Russian Government Decree #991 of December 29, 2007 on the Program for the construction of Olympic facilities and development of Sochi as a mountain-climatic resort the Dzhubga – Lazarevskoye – Sochi gas trunkline is included into the list of Olympic facilities.

The Dzhubga – Lazarevskoye – Sochi gas pipeline construction will provide a steady and uninterrupted gas supply to the Caucasian coast resort area of the Black Sea and will additionally improve gas supply to the city of Sochi – the capital of 2014 Winter Olympic Games. Natural gas utilization for heat and power generation will stimulate sustainable environmental situation in the region.

The length of the gas pipeline will account for 174 km including 150 km laid on the Black Sea seabed.
