Headed by Alexander Ananenkov, Deputy Chairman of Gazprom’s Management Committee, a Gazprom delegation started a business trip across the Far East and the Transbaikal region.

The delegation arrived in the town of Mirny (Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)).

Within the visit Gazprom’s delegation together with a delegation of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Government headed by Vyacheslav Shtyrov, President of the Sakha (Yakutia) Republic visited the Chayandinskoye oil and gas condensate field (OGCF).

“Gazprom launched actions to carry out follow-up exploration of the field and prepare it for commercial development. For these purposes a Gazprom production subsidiary is planned to be set up in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia),” stated Alexander Ananenkov when visiting the Chayandinskoye OGCF.

Based on the visit results Gazprom’s core business divisions received relevant tasks.

“The Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) is looking forward to Gazprom’s soonest operations at the field,” said Vyacheslav Shtyrov in the course of the visit.

The Chayandinskoye oil and gas condensate field is located in the Lensky district of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The C1+C2 reserves of the field account for 1.24 tcm of gas and 68.4 mln t of oil and condensate.

The Chayandinskoye field is included in the List of gas fields representing strategic importance for gas supply to the Russian Federation and having the status of a federal site, which was approved by the Russian Federation Government Directive # 1707-r of November 28, 2007.

In accordance with the Russian Federation Government Directive # 493-r of April 16, 2008, the license for the Chayandinskoye oil and gas condensate field will be granted to Gazprom.

The September 3, 2007 Order by the Russian Federation Industry and Energy Ministry approved the Development Program for an integrated gas production, transportation and supply system in Eastern Siberia and the Far East, taking into account potential gas exports to China and other Asia-Pacific countries. Gazprom was identified by the Russian Government as the Program execution coordinator.

The Program envisages, amongst other things, creating in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) a large gas production center based on the Chayandinskoye field.
