On working meeting between Alexey Miller and Sergey Vakhrukov

Yaroslavl hosted a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Sergey Vakhrukov, Governor of the Yaroslavl Oblast.

The parties addressed the implementation status of the Agreement of Cooperation and the Accord on Gasification between Gazprom and the Yaroslavl Oblast Administration and agreed to retain the present level of natural gas supplies to the Oblast.

An accord was also reached for Gazprom to consider the possibility of buying more equipment manufactured by Yaroslavl’s companies. Regional companies are supposed to hold a presentation of their products in Gazprom.

Alexey Miller and Sergey Vakhrukov adopted the decision to sign in early 2010 a new comprehensive Agreement of Cooperation.

Background:

The Agreement of Cooperation between Gazprom and the Yaroslavl Oblast Administration was entered into in February 2005, the Accord on Gasification – in December 2003.

In 2008 the Yaroslavl Oblast was supplied with more than 2.9 billion cubic meters of natural gas. Some 2.8 billion cubic meters are slated for this year.

The average gasification level in the Yaroslavl Oblast totals 69.9 per cent, with 86.9 per cent in cities and towns, and 19.2 per cent in the rural area. The identical figures throughout Russia average 62, 67 and 44 per cent respectively.

Between 2003 and 2008 Gazprom invested around RUB 978 million in the Yaroslavl Oblast gasification.

In 2009 Gazprom will invest some RUB 343 million in the Oblast gasification to continue the construction of four inter-settlement gas pipelines with the total length of 86 kilometers and to conduct design and exploration work with a view to construct another three inter-settlement pipelines.
