Gazprom hosts Coordination Committee meeting on the issue of liquefied and compressed natural gas production and marine shipment

Gazprom’s Headquarters hosted the Coordination committee’s VIIth meeting on the issue of liquefied and compressed gas production and marine shipment. The meeting dedicated to application of marine technologies for natural gas shipment was chaired by Alexander Ananenkov, Deputy Chairman of Gazprom’s Management Committee, Head of Coordination Committee.

Chiefs and specialists of the company’s structural units and subsidiaries took part at the meeting.

At the meeting state of affairs was considered on:

  • Shtokman LNG project;
  • Baltic LNG project;
  • Development of the system for compressed natural gas marine shipment;
  • Prospects to apply gas hydrates production and transmission technology.

Questions were considered in detail to correct the project to develop the Shtokman gas-condensate field based on essential increase in reserves, up-to-date and efficient technological solutions of field construction.

Coordination committee has given the commission to further develop and apply new technologies to implement Gazprom’s strategy to get access to the U.S. and Asian-Pacific markets.

The first meeting of the Coordination committee on liquefied and compressed gas production and marine shipment was held on October 2, 2003. The Committee’s basic task is to work out the Company’s corporate strategy and coordinate activity of all Gazprom’s structural units, chose sound options, prepare solutions on hydrocarbon advanced production and transmission.

In 2005 Gazprom has increased gas reserves by more than 400 bcm due to geological exploration in Shtokman gas-condensate field. The Federal Subsoil Use Agency has confirmed 3.66 tcm as the new volume of gas reserves in Shtockmanovskoye gas-condensate field (Protocol 18/39 – pr dated 31.01.2006).
