In view of Gazprom intra-corporate governance structure improvement in March 2007 Gazpromtransgaz-Kuban was unbundled from Kubangazprom.

Gazprom has resolved to elect Mikhail Geykhman to the post of Kubangazprom Director General.

Sergey Zhvachkin, who combined the Director General posts in both companies, will now focus on managing the new subsidiary, Gazpromtransgaz-Kuban.

Mikhail Geykhman was born in 1953 in the town of Khadyzhensk, Krasnodar Krai. In 1975 he graduated from the I.M. Gubkin Moscow Institute of the Petrochemical and Natural Gas Industry earning a degree in Automatics and Telemechanics. In 1983 he earned his second professional degree in Technology and Integrated Mechanization of Oil and Natural Gas Fields Development; he is PhD (tech).

He has been working in the natural gas industry since 1975.

In 1999 he was appointed as Deputy Head of the Gas, Gas Condensate and (Oil) Production Directorate; Gazprom Gas, Gas Condensate and Oil Production Department.

Since 2002 he has been Deputy Directorate Head–Head of the Wells Operation and Repair Technique and Technology Division; Gas, Gas Condensate and (Oil) Production Directorate; Gazprom Gas, Gas Condensate and Oil Production Department.

In 2007 Kubangazprom was reorganized through the setting up of three specialized core business companies: Gazpromtransgaz-Kuban, Gazprom UGS-Krasnodar, Gazprompodzemremont-SouthKrasnodar. As a result of the restructuring Kubangazprom was transformed into a company engaged in natural gas and condensate production, as well as liquid hydrocarbons processing. The restructuring was carried out within the frames of the Gazprom intra-corporate governance structure improvement, which encompasses singling out Gazprom multi-profile companies and consolidating core businesses, service outlets and  social infrastructure within specialized legal entities.
