Today the Gazprom Headquarters has hosted a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Alexander Mikhailov, Governor of the Kursk Oblast.
The parties discussed issues related to the Kursk Oblast gasification. Particularly, the parties discussed an opportunity for Gazprom participation in the branch pipeline construction to the town of Dmitriev.
The meeting pointed out that currently the gasification activities in the Kursk Oblast will meet the schedule in earlier date. 17 local gas pipelines were commissioned ahead of the schedule.

The Agreement of cooperation between Gazprom and the Kursk Oblast Administration was signed on December 20, 2002. The gasification Accord was signed on March 1, 2007.
The Kursk Oblast is gasified by 59.3 per cent including 78.1 per cent in cities and towns, 31.5 percent in rural area. The Russia’s average rates are at 54, 61, 36 per cent, respectively.
In 2006 Gazprom supplied nearly 2 bcm of gas to the Kursk Oblast and the same amount is slated for this year.
During 2002-2006 Gazprom committed RUR 1.1 bln for the Kursk Oblast gasification.
In 2007 Gazprom plans to commit RUR 860 mln for gasification of the Kursk Oblast, particularly to complete construction of 25 local pipelines and start up of construction of 16 new gas pipelines.
The regional authorities prepare consumers for gas supply due to the financial resources of the regional budget, investors and population. In 2007 Gazprom plans to commit RUR 386 mln for these purposes. 421 km of distribution networks has been constructed, 3757 households and 22 heating plats have been prepared for gas supply.
The construction of the branch pipeline to the town of Dmitriev with total length of nearly 62 km was started in 2003 due to the financial resources of the federal and regional budgets. Gazprom examines issues relevant to the Company’s opportunity to participate in construction of said facility.
