Board of Directors reviews sci-tech policy issues

The Gazprom Board of Directors’ meeting have finalized at the Gazprom Headquarters.

The Board of Directors reviewed the major directions of Gazprom’s sci-tech policy and issues surrounding its implementation.

The Board entrusted the Management Committee to continue further improvement and implementation of Gazprom’s sci-tech policy.

Gazprom’s sci-tech policy is the essential part of Gazprom’s strategy aimed at making timely and quality decisions for perspective issues on development of the company.

The company accepted the Concept of Gazprom’s Sci-Tech Sector Restructuring developed on the basis of the RF policy principles for the sci-tech sector development within the period up to 2010. The Concept was implemented in the aim of developing management system for Gazprom’s sci-tech business activity.

The sci-tech policy major directions are concerned with decision-making on the company’s business activity key issues such as:

  • Business activity development forecasts;
  • Resource endowment maintenance at high level;
  • Efficiency increase for field development and hydrocarbon production maintenance;
  • Maintenance of reliable gas deliveries for consumers;
  • Increase of product and service competitiveness on foreign and Russian markets;
  • Security maintenance;
  • Increase of market value and investment attractiveness;
  • Providing social responsibility;
  • Asset (including intellectual property) management improvement;
  • Methods and models improvement for investment program development;
  • Development of efficient pricing, taxation and securities policy as well as the policy implementation mechanisms aimed at increasing financial stability;
  • Corporate management system development in accordance with internationally accepted principles and standards.

Sci-tech complex consists of 10 subsidiaries with 6 thousand employees including nearly 100 Doctors of Philosophy and 500 Candidates of Science. Gazprom Group owns more than 1200 innovation patents.

The results of the major sci-tech and Research and Development innovations annually are awarded with Gazprom’s Prize in sci-tech sector.

Gazprom cooperates with the Russian Academy of Science, the Russian Federal Agency for Atomic Energy (Rosatom), Russian Railways, E.ON Ruhrgas AG, BASF AG/Wintershall AG.
