Today the Gazprom Headquarters has hosted a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, and Alexander Karlin, Governor of the Altai Kray.

The parties discussed progress of the Agreement on cooperation. The meeting examined issues on the regional gasification. Special attention was paid to the need of a network schedule fulfillment for the construction of gasification facilities in the Altai Kray.

The meeting also envisaged the forthcoming commissioning of the Barnaul-Biysk section of the Barnaul-Biysk-Gorno-Altaisk gas main with branch pipeline to Belokurikha and gas supply for the Biysk population.

In 2004 Gazprom and the Altai Kray Administration signed the Agreement on cooperation for five years and the Agreement on gasification. In April 2006 the parties signed the network schedule for the construction of gasification facilities in the Altai Kray.

Gasification level of the Altai Kray is at 4.1 per cent including 5.9 per cent in cities & towns and 1.2 per cent in the rural area. The average gasification rates in Russia are at 53, 60, and 34 per cent, respectively.

In 2005 Gazprom supplied 610 mcm of gas to the Altai Kray consumers. This year Gazprom plans to keep up gas deliveries at the same level. The level of current payments on November 1, 2006 makes up 99 per cent.

In 2006 Gazprom plans to provide construction of 11 local settlement pipelines with total length of 172.8 km.

The Barnaul-Biysk section of the Barnaul-Biysk-Gorno-Altaisk gas main with branch pipeline to Belokurikha is planned to be commissioned on November 30, 2006.
