On 22nd February 2005 the 12th International Exhibition of Communication and Telecommunication Systems – Norwecom-2005 was opened. OJSC North-West Telecom continues to be a major exhibitor and organizer of the event.

The following officials took part in the exhibition opening ceremony held at the stand of OJSC North-West Telecom:

• V.N.Yashin, Chief executive officer Svyazinvest JSC, Chairman of the Board of Directors of NWT JSC      
• V.A. Akulich, Chief executive officer North-West Telecom JSC

In his speech at the opening ceremony L.D. Reiman congratulated the participants of the exhibition upon the opening of Norwecom-2005 and noted that information technologies were developing more and more rapidly with each passing year, and the participants of Norwecom-2005 had vividly shown that.

‘Today these nice stands are already outlining some features of the future, the future information society, the things, which influence the economic, social and cultural development of the entire world in the 21st century,’ Reiman said.   

In his turn, I.I. Klebanov noted that Norwecom is ‘the basic site where world’s and Russian companies, telecommunication operators, research institutes, higher educational institutions and cellular operators show their achievements.’ 

The display of OJSC North-West Telecom situated in the 4th pavilion is the largest at Norwecom-2005 and presents to the guests and participants of the exhibition the services provided by the company to its private and corporate clients.  These are comprehensive telephony solutions, services of dial-up and dedicated access to the Internet, intelligent communication network, information and reference services.  Visitors of the exhibition will be able to appreciate the capacities of the company’s convergent network, as well as the efficiency of constructing own corporate networks on its basis.

The programme of North-West Telecom, which will last till 26th February, includes the following events: presentation of OJSC NWT’s convergent network, Inter-Operator Interaction workshops, presentation of a programme for telephone communication at facilities under construction, a special ‘Call Home’ action for students of military academies and institutes, as well as a competition of professional mastery in the installation and measurement of communication cables among specialists of telecommunication companies.
