In connection with a change in the organization structure of OJSC North-West Telecom, Igor Alexandrovich Vasilyev, the former Head of the Information Technologies Department of the Petersburg branch of OJSC N.W.Telecom, has been appointed the Director of the Information Systems Operation Department.
Igor Alexandrovich was born in 1961 in Leningrad. In 1980 he graduated from the Leningrad Technical School of Mechanics and Instrument-Making, specializing as electrician of electronic and electrical automation facilities. In 1989 he graduated from the Leningrad Professor M.A. Bonch-Bruyevich Electrical Engineering Institute (now Prof. M.A. Bonch-Bruyevich Saint Petersburg State University of Telecommunications), specializing as telecommunications engineer.
Igor Vasilyev has been working in the communication industry since 1983. He started his career as an electrician of the computer facilities introduction group at the Leningrad Long-Distance Telephone Exchange. Then he moved to the Petersburg Telephone Network (now the Petersburg branch of OJSC N.W.Telecom), where he worked as a designer and manager during the introduction of most of the information systems, software and hardware complexes of the Petersburg branch, such as: information and billing systems, automated debt notification system, services provision restriction system, accounting system, time billing system, electronic payment system and several other local systems.
In his new position, Igor Vasilyev will be in charge of operation of OJSC N.W.Telecom's information systems, including development of software at the stages of introducing new information systems, centralization and upgrading of the operating systems.
