Today the Gazprom Headquarters has hosted a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Viktor Vekselberg, Executive Director Gas Development of TNK-BP Management.

The parties reviewed basic issues on cooperation in the framework of the Eastern Program implementation and the gas chemical complex construction in Eastern Russia.

Eastern Russia has 25 per cent of Russian ultimate potential gas resources. The total gas resources reach 59 tcm of gas in Eastern Siberia. Total ultimate potential gas resources in the onshore, offshore sections are at nearly 45 tcm, 14.5 tcm, respectively.

In addition the exploration degree of ultimate potential gas resources is very low: 8 per cent in the Siberian Federal District and 11.5 per cent in the Far East. The exploration degree of the Eastern Seas offshore section is estimated at nearly 6 per cent. This points to the preparation prospects for setting up a large-scale gas production in the region. Forecasting proven reserves markup will be about 6.1 tcm of gas by 2030.
