Results of the working meeting between Alexei Miller and Klaus Kleinfeld

Today in Munich, Germany, Alexey Miller, Chairman of Gazprom Management Committee, held a working meeting with Klaus Kleinfeld, President and CEO of Siemens AG.

The parties signed an Agreement on strategic partnership between Gazprom and Siemens AG. The document regulates bilateral cooperation, including realization of new Gazprom's projects, such as North European Gas Pipeline construction, Yuzhno-Russkoye gas field development, gas transportation system development outside Russia, and projects in electricity generation.

The Coordination committee on bilateral cooperation's membership was confirmed, and two new working groups - Offshore projects and Energy conservation and ecology - were created.

Siemens AG, a German corporation, was founded in 1847. It is a world renowned manufacturer of electronic and electric equipment, operating in IT and telecommunications, automation and control systems, energy generation, transport, medicine, lighting equipment. The company operates 190 offices worldwide.

The company started its Russian operations in 1853. Currently Siemens is conducting business in 30 regions of Russia, and is one of the leading equipment, services and solutions providers for Russian economy's key sectors modernization.

Gazprom and Siemens cooperate since 1993. The key projects are in telecommunications and technological processes automation. As a result, Moscow digital network and Gazsvyaz data transmission network, Kaspiigazprom phone network, Gaztelekom communications network were created, and Yamburg gas field's integrated gas treatment facility was automated.

There are a number of projects in the development phase related to automation of gas condensate production and treatment facilities at Yamburg field. Automated control systems of the Unified Gas Supply System, telecommunication networks and IT are among the key cooperation elements.

Gazprom and Siemens AG are jointly developing comprehensive technological solutions in equipment manufacturing in Russia. Demag Delaval Power Nevskii - a joint venture of Nevskii Zavod and Siemens AG in St. Petersburg - produces modern gas turbine equipment supplied to Gazprom, among others.

In September 2003, Gazprom and Siemens AG signed an addendum to the Cooperation Memorandum. According to the addendum, the Coordination committee on bilateral cooperation was established.
