On the 16th of March 2005 the solemn ceremony of handing in awards to the winners of the competition “A Russian Organization of High Social Efficiency” took place in the Kremlin Palace in Moscow. Svyaz of the Republic of Komi , a branch of OJSC NWT , has been awarded the Diploma of the Government of the Russian Federation.

The competition was held under the patronage of the Government of the Russian Federation .    The awards were presented by representatives of federal ministries.   The participant s of the competition in the field of communication were greeted by the Deputy Minister of Information Technologies and Communication of the Russian Federation B.D.Antonyuk and the Chairman of the All-Russia Trade-Union of Communication Workers A.G.Nazeykin.    

Since the 1st of October 2004 Svyaz of the Republic of Komi has been a branch of OJSC North-West Telecom.    In the field of social policy OJSC NWT has traditionally held the position s of stability and social security of its employees.   This includes accurate and timely payment of wages, extra pension provision, medical insurance , organization of summer vacations for employees’ children, ensuring safety, etc. A Collective Agreement is made between the employer and employees, which is strictly fulfilled by both parties.

This award proves the large amount of social work done by OJSC North-West Telecom.    According to V.A. Kozlov, Regional Manager of Svyaz of the Republic of Komi, a branch of OJSC NWT , who took part in the award ceremony, the systematic work of the social   support of employees is the best proof of the company’s stability and unity of the working team.   For, however up-to-date the technologies that are used are, they are nothing without humans, without the specialist who sets all this complex mechanism in motion.    It is due to this that the branch Svyaz of the Republic of Komi and OJSC NWT on the whole place such a high emphasis on this work.
