In an effort to streamline business processes, NLMK Group has announced changes to its occupational health and safety management practices. This restructuring will involve setting up a single management system covering all the Group’s sites and divisions. The system will be headed by Victor Togobetskiy, the newly appointed Director of Occupational Health and Safety. Commenting on these changes, and on the new appointment, Oleg Bagrin, NLMK Group President, said:
“Ensuring the safety of each and every employee, as well as of production on the whole, remains our absolute strategic priority. Indeed, it will always remain a vitally important area for the Company. For this reason, we have taken the decision to assign control over health and safety practices to the highest level of management in the Group. Our objective is to prevent any incidents affecting people or the environment. Our approach is to rely on best available practices and to apply a zero-tolerance policy towards violations in safety procedures and the Company’s fundamental safety requirements.”
Victor Togobetskiy’s main objective will be to implement best global occupational health and safety practices. All NLMK Group companies are to work on improving their systems for forecasting, identifying, analysing and assessing the risks of industrial accidents, the reliability of their health and safety systems, and potential contingencies.
