Kiev hosted yesterday a meeting between Alexey Miller, Gazprom’s Management Committee Chairman and Viktor Yushchenko, Ukrainian President, with Alexey Ivchenko, Ukrainian First Deputy Fuel and Energy Minister and Chairman of Neftegaz Ukrainy’s Board also involved in the talks relative to cooperation in the gas sector.

Due to switching over to financial settlement of gas transit via the Ukraine starting next year, Alexey Miller and Viktor Yushchenko addressed a potential range of gas prices and tariffs in 2006.

At the same time, the meeting deliberated on Central Asian gas deliveries to the Ukraine over 2005 and 2006 as well as after 2006, pointing out that the gas supply scheme fixed in a set of documents signed by Russia, the Ukraine and RosUkrEnergo was meeting both of the countries’ interests.

Alexey Miller and Viktor Yushchenko also exchanged opinions on the outlooks for the International Consortium for the Ukrainian gas transmission network development and management as well as debated Gazprom’s gas storage in the Ukraine-based underground facilities.

The meeting progressed in a warm and amicable atmosphere.
