According to Dmitry Goroshkov, Severstal's sales director, this biannual exhibit is a good opportunity to conduct negotiations with large consumers of rolled metal both in Russia and abroad. Severstal will discuss further plans with large pipe making plants, including OMK (United Metallurgical Company) and TMK (Pipe Metallurgical Company), which are among the exhibit's participants. OMK, which is the Severstal's strategic partner, increased consumption of Severstal's products. According to Eugene Chernyakov, the project's manager, Severstal will increase sales to OMK from 55,000 tonnes in March to 67,000 tonnes in April. The exhibit in Germany is a good chance to also discuss issues with the participants from Germany, such as Sudror company. A monthly increase of section steel sold to this company in 2002 is expected at 3,000-4,000 tonnes. Besides, Severstal will meet with a metal products company Sotaci, which is a Severstal's prospective client in South Africa.
