On May 8, 2013 an official ceremony took place in Central Production Department (CPD) of Saratov Distribution Grids, a branch o IDGC of Volga, JSC to commemorate the 70th anniversary of this enterprise. In his speech of welcome, Vladimir Kucherenko, Chief Engineer of IDGC of Volga, JSC pointed out the unique role of CPD in the operations of Saratov Distribution Grids, a branch o IDGC of Volga, JSC, since this PD is a keystone of the entire Power Grid Complex of the Saratov region. Set up in the wartime year of 1943 and first named as “Vysokovoltnye Seti” (High-Voltage Power Network), the company supplied electric power for multiple defense manufacturing plants. Self-sacrificing and valorous efforts of the company’s staff contributed greatly to meeting the demand in military armaments produced by home front armaments manufacturing enterprises. Nowadays, CPD of Saratov Distribution Grids, a branch o IDGC of Volga, JSC is a state-of-the-industry, high-tech subdivision ensuring reliable power supply for industrial and domestic consumers in Saratov and five districts of the region: Bazarno-Karabulaksky, Baltaisky, Voskresensky, Novoburassky, and Petrovsky. Technical facilities operated by CPD include power transmission lines of all voltage classes, substation equipped with the most up-to-date technology, and heavy duty all-terrain vehicles enabling repair and maintenance teams to promptly arrive at hard-to reach remote locations. However, the key asset of the company is its pool of high-skilled staff members able to reach the most challenging production objectives. “It is great that traditions of Central Production Department are passed down to the next generation of workers. Such continuance of labor traditions is beneficial for us, since it ensures stability and reliability of our power supply services and dynamic development if the Power Grid Complex in general”, pointed out Vladimir Ryabikin, General Director of IDGC of Volga, JSC in his congratulatory speech.
