On 6 and 7 May 2005 the best employees of all branches North-West Telecom JSC came to St.-Petersburg to receive well-deserved congratulations and words of gratitude on their professional holiday, the Day of Radio, which has long been rightfully known as the Day of Wiremen.

The employees from throughout North-West region, where North-West Telecom provides its services, were offered in St.-Petersburg an intensive program, which included guided tours of the city, visit to the Popov Central Museum of Communications, an official ceremony and a concert.

On 7 May Vladimir Akulich, the General Manager of  North-West Telecom JSC, in course of an official ceremony on behalf of the leadership of the industry presented the best employees of the company the highest awards of the telecommunications industry: the title “Master of Communications” and “Honorary Wireman” and also diplomas and letters of gratitude for their conscientious work and loyalty to their profession on behalf of more than 30 thousands employees of North-West Telecom. Vladimir Akulich congratulated everybody on their professional holiday and Victory day and noted that the success of the company was an achievement of everybody present in the audience.

In the evening the employees of   “North-West Telecom” went to Music Hall to attend a concert featuring popular singers and actors Larisa Dolina, Lev Leshchenko, Jan Arlazorov, VIA “Pesnyary”, who created in the soul of every guest an atmosphere of joy and spring. In Music Hall the employees of North-West Telecom celebrated the Day of Telecommunications Workers together with their colleagues from dozens of largest telecommunications companies of St.-Petersburg: from operators to equipment manufacturers.

A visit to St.-Petersburg and presentation of awards not only allowed to distinguish in public the best of the best, but also to get in touch without use of modern communication means. Furthermore the Day of Radio also gave an opportunity to honour the veterans of the communications service, those who gave major part of their lives to their favourite job.
