Lenta opens its 31st supermarket in Moscow

St. Petersburg, Russia; 1 April, 2016 – Lenta, (LSE, MOEX: LNTA) one of the largest retail chains in Russia, is pleased to announce the opening of its 31st supermarket in Moscow.

The new store is a Lenta medium supermarket format located at Sverdlova str., 20, bld.1, Balashikha city, Moscow region. The store has a total area of 1,200 sq.m, with 793 sq.m of selling space and is open from 8 am to 11 pm, seven days a week. A broad product range of 4,700 SKUs has been selected specifically for residents of the Moscow region and includes Lenta’s private labels and federal product ranges alongside local produce. The store has 8 cash registers. The property is leased by Lenta.

The opening in Moscow is Lenta’s fifth supermarket opening in 2016 and brings the total number of Lenta stores to 142 hypermarkets in 70 cities across Russia and 37 supermarkets in Moscow and St. Petersburg.

Lenta’s largest shareholders include TPG Capital and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, both of which are committed to maintaining high standards of corporate governance. Lenta is listed on the London Stock Exchange and on the Moscow Exchange and trades under the ticker: ‘LNTA’.
