A quarter of a century ago in Yekaterinburg the large-scale construction of Novo-Sverdlovskaya heat and power plant was completed. On December 22, 1982 the turbo generator #1 of the plant was synchronized and powered on to the country power supply system. This was the year of the plant’ foundation. In May 1984 the heat and power plant generated its first million of KWt-hours of electricity. On December 21, 1989 the last eight boiler unit was put into operation and HPP exploited its power capacities. Putting into operation of Novo-Sverdlovskaya HPP made possible the construction of new micro districts and considerably increased the reliability of heat supply to the existing city districts.

This HPP is the youngest and the most powerful power plant of OJSC TGK-9 in Sverdlovsk region. 875 Gkal/hour is the fixed heat capacity, electricity capacity of 550 MWt supported by eight power-generating boilers and five steam turbines. The plant supplies heat and hot water to Yeketrinburg and Berezovskiy. The generated electricity comes to the RAO "UES of Russia" Power Grid. Its new historical date the Novo-Sverdlovskaya HPP will celebrate as a part of the TGK-9 “Ekaterinburkiy” branch. The high-qualified personnel can meet any kind of challenge due to the plant development, provide to the customers the reliable energy supply.
OJSC TGK-9 is planning to enlarge the power plant what corresponds to the perspective of the district heating system development of Yekaterinburg. On December, 20 the representatives of the legislative and executive authorities, industrialists and business owners, scientists and medics will congratulate the power engineering specialists in “Metallurg”center. All these people are those for whom Novo-Sverdlovskaya HPP is the hearth of warmness.

Open Joint Stock Company “Territorial Generating Company ?9” was registered on December, 9 2004 and started operational activity on April, 1 2005.

The company includes 23 power stations, 35 boiler shops and 4 heat networks factories located at Perm Territory, Sverdlovsk Region and the Republic of Komi. The installed generating capacity of the company is 3280 MWt, heat capacity - 18952 Gk/h. The staff accounts over 11 thousand people. The General Director of OJSC “TGC-9” is Andrey Yu.Makarov.

The formation of target structure of the Company passed in two stages. On May,1 2006 OJSC TGC-9 was restructured through incorporation of OJSC Perm Generating Company and OJSC Sverdlovsk Generating Company. On February, 1 2007 OJSC “TGC-9” was reorganized by adjoining of OJSC Komi Regional Generating Company. OJSC “ Territorial Generating Company ? 9” has completed s restructuring process.

RAO UES share in OJSC “TGC-9” is over 50, 049%, IES-Holding owns about 30 % of the shares of the company.

The share capital of OJSC “TGC-9” is 17 093 693 607 RUR 64 copeck. Shares of OJSC “TGC-9” are allowed to be put up for auction at RTS from September, 15 2006, at MICEX from September, 22 2006.
