On meeting of Gazprom’s Coordinating Committee for liquefied and pressurized natural gas production and marine transportation

The 4th meeting of Gazprom’s Coordinating Committee for liquefied and compressed natural gas production and marine transportation was held today at Gazprom headquarters. Alexander Ananenkov, Acting Chairman of Gazprom Management Committee, chaired the meeting.

Alexander Ryazanov, Deputy Chairman, Gazprom Management Committee, and Bogdan Budzulyak, Member of Gazprom Management Committee, Head of the Department of Gas Transportation, Underground Storage and Utilization, and several other top managers and experts of Gazprom’s departments and affiliates were present at the meeting.

Special emphasis was put on implementation of the Shtokman field liquefied natural gas (LNG) production and supply project.

The meeting’s participants were briefed on the technical feasibility studies performed by 9 overseas companies, and their possible participation in the Shtokman natural gas and gas condensate field development, including an LNG production facility construction.

Currently, Gazprom’s experts are studying these companies’ proposals in order to short list them before holding preliminary negotiations.

The Committee discussed major steps in further Shtokman field development, including incorporation of a management company to coordinate Gazprom’s LNG projects.

The meeting participants discussed various possibilities of LNG production facility construction in Ust-Lug, and pressurized natural gas (PNG) transportation to Kaliningrad. The participants were also briefed on natural gas hydrate production and transportation.
