On November 22, Uralsvyazinform Board of Directors held its regular meeting and considered launching of the single automated billing system (ABS) in the Company. In line with the board’s decision, this project will be assigned a top priority in the Company’s operations.
Automated Billing System (ABS) is bundled software which allows to provide billing (i.e. collect and process data about communication services provided) and to fully automate operations of subscriber departments, control payments and form accounts.
The Company’s board of directors approved the ABS project based on the Amdocs Billing Suite software. Previously, this software won a tender among 20 Russian and foreign billing system providers. The selection commission was made of the representatives of Svyazinvest’s inter-regional companies and Rostelecom.
At this meeting, Uralsvyazinform’s BoD approved two major transactions with IBM East Europe/ Asia(IBM’s subsidiary) for software supply and consulting services on technical support. The supplied ABS is expected to be certified for servicing 4.5 mln subscribers.
The single ABS will enable Uralsvyazinform to bring client service to the new level, introduce unified standards of client service, promptly react to customer needs and introduction of new services, minimize the probability of billing errors when billing customers, etc. In addition, the company will be able to increase efficiency of business processes due to faster information gathering about received revenues, status of customer accounts and containing costs for operating billing systems.
