The ceremony of opening a new educational establishment – The Industrial and Humanities College – will be held in Tomsk, September 5. The College was established on the basis of a chemical and technology Lyceum. Transneft invested over RUR 150 million in training of future specialists for the pipeline transportation. Training of skilled workers is one of Company’s priorities. Early, every fifth worker of Transneft receives training following various schemes of professional development. The Company provides substantial welfare and financial support to higher and specialized secondary schools and has its own scholars in oil and gas higher education establishments. Assistance in establishing a college in Tomsk is part of wide-ranging measures aimed at reviving the vocational education and training young generation of workers in key pipeline professions. The graduates of the College are expected to be involved in future building and operating the Western Siberia-Pacific Pipeline System that is currently being designed.
