Rostelecom took part in the meeting of operators of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) - “Regional Carrier Meeting” held on August 23-24 in Urumchi (China).
The meeting was organized by China Telecom, the largest telecom operator in China, to reinforce cooperation between major carriers of the states – members of SCO: Rostelecom (Russia), Kazakhtelecom (the Republic of Kazakhstan), Tajiktelecom (the Republic of Tajikistan), Kyrgyztelecom (the Kyrgyz Republic), Uzbektelecom (the Republic of Uzbekistan) and China Telecom (China).
During the meeting all participants made company presentations as well as the presentations of their key projects. China Telecom suggested cable capacity between the countries be expanded to meet the growing demand in traffic volumes enhancement and capacity sales.
Rostelecom's delegation held a number of bilateral meetings with the representatives of the operators from the states – members of SOC to discuss further steps towards expanding cooperation with China Telecom in the framework of TEA project (Europe-Asia Transit). The Company also presented its new IP services: Internet access, VOIP and VPN /MPLS.
After all discussions, the meeting attendees signed the minutes of further lines of cooperation.
