The Gazprom Headquarters today has hosted a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Murtaza Rakhimov, President of the Republic of Bashkortostan.

The parties deliberated on the implementation of an Agreement for cooperation and matters concerning further gasification of the Republic of Bashkortostan.

A focus was placed on gas supply volumes to the Republic over 2007.

The Agreement for cooperation and Accord on the completion of gasification of the Republic of Bashkortostan were signed on June 19, 2003.

Natural gas penetration in Bashkiria’s residential sector is at 78.5 per cent, including 90.3 per cent in cities and towns, and 58.2 per cent in rural area. The identical Russia-averaged parameters make up 53, 60 and 34.7 per cent, respectively.

In 2005 Gazprom provided the Republic with 15.6 bcm of gas and roughly the same amount is scheduled for this year. As at August 1, 2006, Bashkiria’s gas debt stands at RUR 1 bln 73 mln, with the bulk owed by power companies and household consumers. Current gas deliveries are paid up at almost 98 per cent.
