Alexei Grabkov appointed Rostelecom’s Deputy General Director – Director of Far Eastern Branch

Rostelecom, Russia’s national long-distance telecommunications operator, today announced the appointment of Alexei Grabkov as Deputy General Director – Director of the Company’s Far Eastern Branch.
Alexei Grabkov has worked in telecommunications sector since 1996. Starting as an engineer, he then held a number of positions including Head of Gateway Operations Center, Regional Center for Long-Distance Telecommunications & Television (TCMS-15) and, most recently, Director of Regional Center-2 of Rostelecom’s Far Eastern Branch (since 2002).
Alexei Grabkov holds a degree in Radio Communications, Broadcasting and Television from Siberian State University (Khabarovsk branch).

Rostelecom’s Far Eastern Branch provides its services through 8 Regional Centers located in Belogorsk (the Amur Region), Khabarovsk, Ussuriysk, Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Yakutsk, Uglegorsk, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatski and Magadan.
The length of the network is 39, 721 kilometers.

The Far Eastern Branch provides its services within the boundaries of the Far Eastern Federal district of the Russian Federation covering the following administrative & territorial subdivisions: Khabarovsk and Primorsk Territories; the Sakhalin, Amur, Magadan and Jewish Autonomous regions; Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Kamchatka (including Koryak Autonomous region) and Chukotka.

Rostelecom (www.rt.ru/en) is Russia’s national long-distance telecommunications operator. The Company owns and operates a nationwide trunk network of 200,000 km in length, enabling the provision of telecommunications services in every region of the Russian Federation. Rostelecom ensures the bulk of long-distance and international traffic transmission as well as the operation of land TV and radio broadcasting channels. The Company’s majority shareholder is Svyazinvest, with 50,67% of ordinary (voting) shares.
