North-West Telecom introduces the Avangard service in Vologda Oblast

Starting from 1st October 2006 OJSC North-West Telecom offers a new opportunity of getting connected to the Internet to subscribers of Vologda Oblast – the service of broadband access under the Avangard trademark .

The ADSL technology used for providing the Avangard service makes it possible to organize a high-speed permanent channel of access to the Internet via the existing telephone line. The telephone set remains available in this case, while the information reception speed may reach 8 MB/s.

The Avangard trademark offers three rate plans with included traffic for connection to the Internet in Vologda : 150 MB/s with the subscriber fee of 265 roubles, 350 MB/s with the subscriber fee of 600 roubles and 600 MB/s with the subscriber fee of 950 roubles. The price of 1 MB of traffic exceeding the traffic included in the subscriber fee will be 1 rouble 80 kopecks.   The Avangard service will be paid for on the basis of monthly invoices.

Information on the terms of connection and the rates can be obtained at Clients Service   Centres of the Vologda Branch of OJSC N.W.Telecom and at the special web site www.avangard-dsl.ru , where one can also express one's opinion and ask questions to specialists of the branch in the "Questions and Answers" section . Detailed information on the new service   can also be obtained by telephone: 72-72-72 in Vologda and 58-28-58 in Cherepovets .

The Internet access service under the Avangard trademark was introduced by OJSC N.W.Telecom to the St. Petersburg market for the first time in February 2006. By today over 30,000 subscribers of OJSC N.W.Telecom in the Northern capital of Russia have become users of the broadband access Internet under the Avangard trademark . Taking into account the soaring consumers' demand for access to the Internet, North-West Telecom is planning a further development and introduction of the Avangard service throughout the Northwestern region. Before the year 2006 expires, Avangard will be available in all the 10 regional branches of the Company . Soon clients of Avangard will be able to use extra services free of charge: a game portal, a file store, etc. Development and regional market promotion of new services based on the ADSL technology are planned: digital TV, video/audio on request and many other services.
