President Vladimir Putin has issued a Decree awarding Rosneft’s Senior Vice-President Nikolai Borisenko a Class II Order of Merit for his valuable contribution to the development of the oil and gas industry and long service.

The Decree was signed on September 20.

Nikolai Borisenko was born in 1956. In 1980 he graduated from the Ordzhonikidze Siberian Metallurgical Institute, majoring in metallurgical engineering. He started his career as an engineering expert, became the Head of the Novintech scientific production association, and was subsequently appointed Deputy General Director of Rosneft-Sakhalinmorneftegaz.

In 1998, Mr. Borisenko was appointed Senior Deputy Director of Rosneft. In May 2005 he joined the Board of Directors of Rosneftegaz, the company to which the state transferred ownership of Rosneft.
