The Gazprom Headquarters hosted today a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, President of the Republic of Kalmykia.
The parties discussed the progress in the execution of the Cooperation Agreement and the Gasification Accord inked between Gazprom and the Republic of Kalmykia. In particular, a special focus was placed on issues related to the preparation of the 2008 Network Schedule for the synchronized construction and commissioning of gasification facilities in the Republic.
The meeting also touched upon matters with regard to the clearance of the arrears for previous gas deliveries.
It was pointed out that the Government of Kalmykia was implementing a big scope of work to gasify population centres in the Republic.

The Cooperation Agreement between the Republic of Kalmykia and Gazprom was entered into in November 2001 and is in force for an indefinite period as additionally agreed on December 29, 2006. On June 10, 2005, the Agreement was supplemented by a five-year Accord on Gasification of the Republic of Kalmykia.
In 2007 Gazprom delivered over 270.2 mln cu m of gas to Kalmykia and 343.8 mln cu m is planned to be delivered in 2008.
As of February 1, 2008, Kalmykia’s gas debt to Gazprom totaled RUR 278.99 mln.
The gasification level of the Republic of Kalmykia is 72 per cent, with 98.5 per cent in cities, towns and settlements, and 53.4 per cent in the rural area. The identical figures throughout Russia average 62, 67 and 44 per cent respectively.
In 2007 Gazprom invested RUR 1.1 mln in the gasification of the Republic of Kalmykia.
