Grid control center of Chuvashenergo is to take operational control over 34 power transmission lines

On September 01, 2014, at 00:00 MSK Chuvash Regional Dispatching Office (RDU), a branch of SO UES, JSC, will pass operational control over thirty-four 110 kV power transmission lines to the Grid Control Center of Chuvashenergo, a branch of IDGC of Volga, JSC (a member of Rosseti Group of Companies). It will speed up the decision making process in addressing specific issues, such as equipment repair, backup switching, accident management, etc.
This decision was made by an ad hoc commission based on the results of inspection held on August 11-15. The purpose was to check whether the Grid Control Center was ready to handle the extended scope of the 2nd stage operational functions. The commission included representatives of the Department of Operational and Process Control of IDGC of Volga, JSC; Regional Dispatch Management of Power System of the Mid-Volga region, a branch of SO UES, JSC; Regional Dispatching Office of Nizhny Novgorod, a branch of SO UES, JSC, and Chuvash Regional Dispatching Office, a branch of SO UES, JSC. The inspection included the grid-wide emergency response training for operational staff who demonstrated adequate level of skills in detecting and controlling a simulated accident. The findings of the commission were documented in the Inspection Certificate confirming that the Grid Control Center of Chuvashenergo, a branch of IDGC of Volga, JSC is ready to handle the extended scope of operational functions during Stage II. The commission declared that the Grid Control Center was ready to perform the extended operational functions during Stage II.
At the moment, the Grid Control Center maintains operational control over forty-four 110 kV overhead power transmission lines, ensures 24x7 exchange of operational data between power grid entities, Chuvash Regional Dispatching Office (RDU), a branch of SO UES, JSC, On-Line Service Center of IDGC of Volga, JSC, Crisis Management Center, related Grid Control Centers, etc. Additionally, the Grid Control Center manages and monitors the condition of distribution grids across the Chuvash Republic, develops short- and mid-term plans for repair of overhead power transmission lines and equipment operated and served by Chuvashenergo, etc.
