| The fourth international trade show and a scientific conference on hydroaviation "Gidroaviasalon-2002" was held in Gelenzhik from September 4 through 8. There, a broad range of specimen of aviation products of marine and coastal application, aviation engines, units and systems, means of terrestrial and aquatic maintenance, missile installations, means of communication and navigation equipment, means of water rescue and environmental monitoring, technological equipment and materials, were presented.
Mr. S.Yu.Rynkevich, the Deputy Director of the Aerospace Agency of Russia, Mr. G.S.Panatov, the Director General of Beriev Aircraft Company, Mr. V.Ya.Pospelov, the Director General of the Ship Building Agency of Russia, Mr. F.N.Myasnikov, the Director General of V/? "Aviaexport" PLC, Mr. A.I.Fedorov, the President of the JSC "IAIA", Mr. Novozhilov, the Designer General of the Aviation Company after S.V.Ilyushin, etc., participated in the opening ceremony.
140 firms and organizations from Russia, Ukraine, Byelorussia, Moldavia, Czechia, Malaysia, Netherlands, Germany participated in the exhibition. The "Gidroaviasalon-2002" was visited by Mr. Yu.N.Koptev, the Director General of "Rosavakosmos", Mr. V.S.Mikhailov, the Air Force Commander in Chief, Mr. M.K.Barskov, the Nave Deputy Commander in Chief. In the course of the exhibition, 18 world records were set by the amphibious aircraft BE-200 in Class C-3 (amphibious aircraft) and C-2 (hydroplanes). Mr. D.A.Morozov, the Deputy Air Force Commander in Chief, was on the flight crew of one of the record flights.
Beside the first firefighting version of the BE-200 aircraft, a second flying craft - the BE-200ChS (ChS for the Ministry of Emergency Situations) that first took to the skies in Irkutsk in August this year.
During the work of the exhibition, numerous negotiations and meetings of manufacturers with both Russian and foreign potential customers were held.
